Harry Sutherland | Chairman
A merchant banker with 25 years experience of developing and advising companies in Africa & Emerging Markets, 10 years of which for Lonrho PLC. In 2009, Harland Capital which he founded in 1997, was ranked 38th in the Global M&A rankings with UK involvement. As an investment banker in London he was Adviser or Stockbroker to over 25 companies which raised in excess of US $1.75 billion in new funds. He started the first foreign investment coffee trading business in Guinea in 1984 and built it into the largest player in that market in its first year; he project managed the five star Labadi Beach Hotel in Ghana for Lonrho in 1991 (the first hotel Lonrho actually built rather than acquired) and sold the first 757 Boeing Aircraft into the Former Soviet Union (Turkmenistan) in 1993. In 2009 he was the exclusive adviser to the London listed Emerald Energy PLC sold to the Chinese SOE, Sinochem Resources for $873 million, the first Chinese acquisition of a FTSE 250 company in history. Mr Sutherland sits on the boards of several companies with operations ranging from mining to investment banking to offshore management.
Austen Titford | Group CFO
Austen has more than 20 years’ experience in the natural resources, construction and power sectors working for FTSE 100, 250 and AIM listed companies, on a broad mix of commercial and financial roles covering both the project development and operational phases.
In recent years, Austen has been primarily focused on the development of gas to power projects in Cameroon and Kenya and supported business start-ups in the East Africa.
Post qualification as an ACA with Arthur Andersen, Austen spent 9 years with Lonrho Plc in the Project Development Team working on mining, manufacturing, hotels and trading JVs. He worked for LASMO plc in Tehran and was part of BHP Billiton’s Algeria team, based out of London before progressing to CFO for a number of AIM listed companies.

Frank Moxon | Senior M&A Adviser
Frank is a corporate financier with over 25 years of industry experience. Initially an equities analyst at Capel Cure Myers he has subsequently worked in corporate finance roles at Beeson Gregory, Société Générale, Old Mutual, Williams de Broë, where he was head of corporate finance and head of natural resources, Evolution Securities, where he headed up the mining team, and his own natural resources consultancy, Hoyt Moxon Ltd. During this time, he successfully completed over 120 corporate finance transactions (including 38 IPOs) raising well over £1.2 billion in new funds and has acted as an M&A adviser for both bidders and bid targets in hostile, recommended and competitive situations. He is also non-executive chairman of Imperial Minerals plc and a non-executive director of AIM-quoted Cove Energy plc, TSX-V quoted Imperial Minerals Ltd and the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment of which he is also a Chartered Fellow. He holds an economics degree from Loughborough University and is a Fellow of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining and the Energy.
Zarko Stefanovski | Senior Adviser Oil and Gas
Zarko Stefanovski is an oil and gas specialist with a comprehensive international experience in the oil & gas sector within both industry and investment banking, with 6 years experience in the industry (North Sea, CEE, Africa and Middle East) and 12 years in the City as a sell-side equity research analyst. Zarko was Head of Oil & Gas Research at FD Capital for two and half years. Previously with Aton Capital in Moscow, CAIB, ABN Amro and T.Hoare & Co. (now Canaccord Adams) in London. He produced the equity research report at ABN Amro to support US$1 billion convertible bond financing for Gazprom and a number of research reports at FD Capital as part of IPO and SPO transactions for various international small to mid cap oil & gas companies to raise in total over US$250 million During his City career he covered primarily emerging market stocks, with emphasis on Europe, Middle East & Africa. This coverage included large cap stocks such as Gazprom, Lukoil, Transneft, Yukos, Sibneft, Surgutneftegaz, PKN, MOL, Tupras and small to mid cap stocks such as Afren, Aurelian Oil and Gas, Cadogan Petroleum and Range Resources.
David Williams | Senior Adviser Hotels, Housing & Infrastructure
A chartered engineer with over 30 years commercial and project management experience particularly in the former Soviet Union and Africa. Having developed his skills in the UK process industry moved into project management and spent 16 years working for the major UK conglomerate, Lonrho Plc, as a Senior Executive developing new projects and setting up new company operations. During this time he sat on the boards of 13 group companies and notably developed a US$200m new sugar cane factory and estate in Benin, West Africa, completed a tea estate acquisition and development in Tanzania, meat processing acquisition and expansion in Kenya, tomato cannery acquisition in Mozambique and he was the Director responsible for the development of the five star Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra, Ghana in 1991. He subsequently undertook a management buy-out of a pre-engineered housing company from Lonrho Plc, and with this company has completed some 30 housing and hotel projects in Africa, Russia, Central Asia and Antarctica.
Trevor Richardson (Pri.Sci.Nat) | Senior Advisor Minerals and Metals
Co-founded Caracle Creek International Consulting Inc., an international geological consulting and project management company. Director of Benzu Gold Limited.
Experienced in managing multimillion dollar projects from conception, through exploration and into production. Mineral exploration experience in Canada, Madagascar and many African countries. Involved with public companies in exploration and mining since 1998. Trevor is registered as a Professional Natural Scientist under the South African Council of Natural Scientific Professions.
Peter Fritz (CFA) | Senior Adviser - China
Based in Beijing, PR. China. Mr. Fritz has spent over 15 years living and working in China during which time he has been engaged in the financial sector engaged in matching large Chinese investors with projects in the natural resource sector. Mr. Fritz has a BSc in Applied Mathematics from the University of Calgary and an MBA from the University of British Columbia, and is fluent in Mandarin.
